ATEX Certified Switches
ATEX is a certification that ensures the safety of employees and surrounding environments in explosive atmospheres where significant injury or damage could occur. ATEX relates to two European Union (EU) directives: Directive 99/92/EC (also known as ‘ATEX 137’ or the ‘ATEX Workplace Directive’) and Directive 94/9/EC (also known as ‘ATEX 95’ or ‘the ATEX Equipment Directive’). The Workplace Directive relates to the installation and maintenance of equipment and the safety of employees. The Equipment Directive relates to the requirements for the manufacturing and sale of equipment.
ATEX-certified Ethernet switches include managed and unmanaged hardened Fast Ethernet switches that are used in applications such as offshore oil rigs, natural gas distribution centers, oil refineries, and petrochemical plants. These switches are certified to operate reliably in harsh environments such as those found on factory floors, outdoor enclosures or other hazardous environments.
Transition Networks’ ATEX-certified Switches are the ideal solution for hardened environments such as extreme temperatures, shock, hazardous locations, and more. Our switches are available in both managed and unmanaged varieties as well as several port counts to best fit the needs of the network. View our ATEX-certified Switches below.
I have been specifically using Transition Networks’ products on my engineering products for over 10 years. I have always been pleased with their products, their support, and their willingness to listen to requests for new product development.
